Are you saying that you worship the Bible?

Friday, May 3, 2019

LeonTavare: Is it a sin to date someone from another christian denomination? So, I'm a Pentecostal christian and I've grown interest in this Catholic girl in my school and I think it goes both ways. I just wanted to know that if we begin to date it would be okay.

Daniel: Neither Pentecostals nor Catholics are in the truth. You may do whatever you want. For the sake of argument, if you were in the truth, it wouldn't be wrong to "date" someone not in the truth, if all date meant was going out to eat. It would surely be wrong to have sex with them. (2 Corinthians 6:14 i) Check out A True Church. Don't go to hell like the rest of the world!

tachibanakanade: Heaven's Gate ii was a much better Christian cult.

Daniel: Are you suggesting we should kill ourselves?

tachibanakanade: No, I'm saying their cult was far more interesting than yours.

LeonTavare: What about carrying on and marrying them?

Daniel: That's the same as sex for these purposes. The difference between harlotry and marriage is intent.

Xiantruth: And I suppose you are in the truth?

Daniel: Yes.

SinChill: Got any proof of that?

Daniel: Compare what we say to what the Bible says. (Acts 17:11 iii)

Xiantruth: Remember this statement of yours from a past comment?

God is the Bible

How can you be in the truth when you've made this kind of idolatrous statement?

Daniel: It's not idolatrous; it's true. (John 1:1; iv Matthew 4:4 v)

Xiantruth: It's idolatry, and blasphemy.

JD-Anderson: So I read most of that website until I just glazed over. I enjoyed the taking snippets of scripture, which is very effective for the uninformed, to scare them to believing your point. I go to church, yet it is not the cornerstone of my faith. But I guess I’m doing it all wrong.

This sort of stuff gives us Christians a bad name. But sure, churches are horrible. The gathering of people searching to grow their faith, helping the lost, and going out in our communities and the world preaching the gospel. Sure, you’re right. Plus what about the apostle Paul? His growing of churches was probably the worst thing he did, right?

Daniel: False churches are horrible. (Ephesians 5:11 vi) There are none saved who attend them. (2 Peter 2:17 vii)

SinChill: Pray tell, how do we know that yours is not false?

Daniel: Compare what we say to what the Bible says. (Acts 17:11)

SinChill: Okay, that doesn't really do much because plenty of denominations use the Bible as the foundation of their beliefs.

Daniel: Yours doesn't. viii

SinChill: Yes, you are right we don't use the Bible alone as the foundation of our beliefs....because we are older than the Bible. We use Christ taught and what the Apostles gave us as the foundation for our beliefs.

Daniel: The Bible says Christ is the Bible. (John 1:1; Matthew 4:4) So you need something more than Christ for salvation? You are older than God?

SinChill: Lol, the Bible is NOT Christ. Christ is the Logos, the Word of God by which all creation came. The Bible is the collections of books deemed inspired that we Christians call the written word of God.

No the Church is not older than God, but we are older than the Bible that you hold in your hands.

Daniel: The Bible says Christ is the word of God, and that you shall live by "every word that proceeds from the mouth of God." The Bible is those words.

SinChill: No, that is not all. John admits at the end of his Gospel that Jesus did and performed many more things than that are written there. The Bible does not contain everything Jesus said or did.

And, the Bible is not Christ. Word of God [does not equal] word of God in these context. They are different.

Daniel: So what if He did other things? For whatever reason He didn't want that to be part of the Bible.

Xiantruth: God is NOT the Bible. You've committed idolatry and blasphemy. John 1:1 has nothing to do with the Bible.

Daniel: The Bible is not the Word of God? What is it then? How are we to obey Matthew 4:4?

Xiantruth: No, Jesus is the Word of God. You’ve made an inanimate object your god, and have the nerve to claim others aren’t in th truth?

Daniel: I have not said that any one physical copy of the Bible is God. It is the words that are God.

Xiantruth: The only Word that is God is the one mentioned in John 1:1, and that Word is Jesus.

Daniel: From our FAQ:

Q10. Are you saying that you have to do more than just believe on Christ's death and resurrection to be saved?

Yes, you need to believe in Christ Himself (John 3:16 ix), not just what He did. Jesus Christ is all of the Bible, the word of God (Revelation 19:13; x Hebrews 4:12-13; xi James 1:21; xii Matthew 4:4). Your trust must be in God's word, because that's who Jesus is (John 1:1, 14 xiii).

Q11. Are you saying that you worship the Bible?

Yes, not the paper, ink, or cover, but all that it says we worship and live by (Psalm 56:4, xiv 10; xv 130:5; xvi 138:2; xvii Isaiah 66:2 xviii).

Xiantruth: I think you just proved that this “true church” is nothing of the kind. With this kind of false information, this “true church” should be avoided by any Christian wanting truth.
