Doesn’t marriage need to be legally binding?

Jumpedunderjumpman: I’ve been really struggling lately with why premarital sex is so bad. Like I understand that the Bible states it’s so, but why is it so?

Daniel: It's not bad as long as you get married. (Matthew 19:6i)

It doesn't need to be a ceremony. Just say to one another that you are married, and it is so.

Jumpedunderjumpman: Doesn’t marriage need to be legally binding?

Daniel: The Bible says no such thing.

Jumpedunderjumpman: Then is a break up then a divorce?

Daniel: Yes. And divorce is very bad.

Jumpedunderjumpman: Hmm. Okay, thanks. x
