And they will be tormented day and night forever and ever.

This was meant to be a comment on "The problem of those unable to Love, or the question of hell as a reality" by Bram, but he didn't approve it.

the idea of hell as Presence of God for those who hate God.

Hell is a literal physical place that people are currently burning in.

So hell as a reality for those who are unable to be reconciled with God could work in both ways of completely being cut off from God who respects our free will

"Free will" is a false doctrine not found in the Bible.

getting completely cut off from God will just result in non-existence.

The Bible says the wicked will exist forever in torment. i

Darwin had this to add:

Those in hell melt away ii at the presence of God, iii because God is in hell iv consuming them with His fire. v The godly can dwell with everlasting burnings, vi but those who despise His word are destroyed in everlasting burnings. vii

  1. Revelation 20:

    10 The devil, who deceived them, was cast into the lake of fire and brimstone where the beast and the false prophet are. And they will be tormented day and night forever and ever.

  2. Psalm 112:

    10 The wicked will see it and be grieved;
    He will gnash his teeth and melt away;
    The desire of the wicked shall perish.

     ^

  3. Psalm 68:

    2 As smoke is driven away,
    So drive them away;
    As wax melts before the fire,
    So let the wicked perish at the presence of God.

     ^

  4. Psalm 139:

    8 If I ascend into heaven, You are there;
    If I make my bed in hell, behold, You are there.

     ^

  5. Hebrews 12:

    29 For our God is a consuming fire.

    Psalm 50:

    3 Our God shall come, and shall not keep silent;
    A fire shall devour before Him,
    And it shall be very tempestuous all around Him.

    Psalm 97:

    3 A fire goes before Him,
    And burns up His enemies round about.

     ^

  6. Isaiah 33:

    14 The sinners in Zion are afraid;
    Fearfulness has seized the hypocrites:
    “Who among us shall dwell with the devouring fire?
    Who among us shall dwell with everlasting burnings?”
    15 He who walks righteously and speaks uprightly,
    He who despises the gain of oppressions,
    Who gestures with his hands, refusing bribes,
    Who stops his ears from hearing of bloodshed,
    And shuts his eyes from seeing evil:
    16 He will dwell on high;
    His place of defense will be the fortress of rocks;
    Bread will be given him,
    His water will be sure.

     ^

  7. Psalm 37:

    38 But the transgressors shall be destroyed together;
    The future of the wicked shall be cut off.

    Proverbs 29:

    1 He who is often rebuked, and hardens his neck,
    Will suddenly be destroyed, and that without remedy.

    Matthew 10:

    28 And do not fear those who kill the body but cannot kill the soul. But rather fear Him who is able to destroy both soul and body in hell.
