Nor shall a man put on a woman’s garment.

Thursday, August 27, 2020

Have you heard the argument that someone can be born as a woman in a man's body? It's deceptive, and it appeals to principles of this world i rather than Scripture. ii

What's the Bible say about being transgender?

That it's evil. iii

Trans men are men and trans women are women; they would be wearing men's and women's garments, as men and women.

This is delusion; the result of a debased mind. iv

A piece of cloth is not inherently male or female.

True, it's contextual. The context here is that of transgenderism. That is, people who (usually) dress like the opposite sex for the purpose of deceiving people.

Some people don't have only xx or xy chromosomes.

Such are exceptions and medical abnormalities. v

Most trans people aren't dressing to deceive other people, but to make themselves feel comfortable.

Do they not (usually) intend for people to believe they are a certain gender based on the way they look? A gender that is not in line with the reality of their genitals. Besides the matter of dress, most trans people are also homosexuals. A man who (wrongly) believes that he is a woman, who has sex with men, is not a straight woman; he is a homosexual man.

No. She's a woman. Trans women don't only believe they are the opposite gender; they are the opposite gender. Her brain, in the womb, developed into a female brain while her body developed into a male body.

There is no reason I can find in Scripture to believe that gender and sex relate to anything other than the penis versus the womb; no verse mentioning gendered brains versus opposite gendered bodies. It says males are circumcised, vi and women give birth. vii

Stop listening to the Bible for a moment. Open your mind to a little something called science.

No thanks. I am not opposed to science.

It is scientifically proven that being transgender is a real thing.

I don't know how such a thing can be proven, as it's a subjective thing versus an objective thing. That is, the person objectively can be seen to have a penis, and yet subjectively believes they are somehow a woman. There is no "real thing" besides the opinion here, besides the obvious real "thing." viii

Obviously the culture has changed since the ancient Hebrew culture. ix Circumcision is no longer a popular practice, and not all women are expected to give birth. But what does that have to do with gender presentation?

It was not a command that all women must give birth. It says that they will experience pain in giving birth. But the point is that woman is mentioned as being the gender that gives birth, and man is the gender mentioned as needing to get circumcised. x So unless you are suggesting that men can give birth, or that women should get circumcised...

It's brain make-up. Male and female brains are different, and trans women have been seen to have more female coded brains.

That I don't deny. The "brain make-up" is also different for addicts and insane people.

Addiction and insanity change the make-up of the brain over time, but the male and female brain thing is always there. It doesn't change.

People can be born insane, or even addicted to something. We know they are born speaking lies. xi People can be born saved, xii and nothing is impossible with God. xiii

You can be more likely to be addicted; that depends on your genes.

A baby can be born addicted to a substance that the mother has taken. A baby can be born with any number of things wrong with its mind. That someone is born a certain way is not to say they don't have something wrong with them. And it is God who causes us to be born the way we are born; He even creates us as destined to hell or destined for glory! xiv

as long as you have hatred to yourself you will engage in judgement of others and be beyond God's grace.

  2. It's not wrong to hate, and it's not wrong to judge. Make sure you are in God's grace.
