Depart from Me, you who practice lawlessness!

Friday, June 5, 2020

A bisexual argues that love should be accepting of evil, and others chime in on not being too pushy about warning them.

I am curious who is all accepted here. I'm a bisexual christian.

Oh, how do you reconcile homosexuality i with Scripture which condemns that kind of lifestyle?

If you think about the verses that he created everyone in his image and said everything was good.

By this logic, murderers are also good since God created man and men eventually started murdering each other.

God judges two things on humans. Their faith! And the contents on their heart. Jesus said this: for who ever believes in me will be accepted into my kingdom. And I do believe in him.

No, you don't. If you believed then you would repent of sin ii rather than call it good. iii

We should all love. iv No one should be turned away. When you look past the hate, you'll find that people are just like you. And that is when we can start loving.

It is out of love that I warn you that you are going to hell. You need to repent; when you have repented and believe like me, you are of course welcome to fellowship with me. But if you do not repent, how can I accept you? Scripture commands me not to fellow with such people. v

I've studied the scripture and have talked to multiple people who are Christians and Catholics and about 20 pastors.

It's likely most of the people you talked to were false Christians. The Catholics for sure.

You're calling the pope a false christian.

Yes. Homosexuals and Catholics both go to hell.

I want everyone to know this. The church is not a building. The church is not a group of Pharisaical people who claim to have all the answers. The church is You. You who follows Jesus, you are the church. You're not defined by denomination, and you're not defined by a people group. You are defined by God, and what God says is this: "I love you, and I sent my son Jesus to die for you and to save you. Because you could never safe yourself. But I love you that much." Wherever you're at, you're loved. And for all you who are out there putting other people down, or harming other people, and treating people poorly, and claiming to be more spiritual then they are. THAT IS NOT JESUS. That is not Jesus. Jesus loves us all. And it's on us to love other people. And Jesus said you'll know a true follower of the Christ is by their love. You'll know them by their love. Best thing we could ever do is start loving people; start showing grace and care that only god can give them. That they are not too far gone. That God's love is for all people. We are the church. We are people. We are not a building. And we are not the self righteous religious people who do not know Jesus. God bless you all.

It's not treating someone poorly to warn them about hell. vi You are saying I should fellow with homosexuals and that this how love is shown. You are wrong. God is Love, and He hates homosexuals.

He hates and loves homosexuals simultaneously, no?

Yes. Out of my love for homosexuals, I warn them so they can be saved. Out of my hate for homosexuals, I will not fellow with them until they have repented.

Homosexuality itself is not against God. If you come to god, he will put you where he wants you. If that means being gay, so be it.

He makes plenty of people homosexual; that doesn't mean they are saved. vii

That viii only says lust. Not love.

We know what it means because the law also says. ix It's not wrong for men to love each other.

Hebrews 8:13. In that He says, "A new covenant,” He has made the first obsolete. Now what is becoming obsolete and growing old is ready to vanish away.

Indeed, we are not under the law of the old covenant, and yet we know from the law what homosexuality is, and that God hates it. And when Paul later talks about the evil things that keep you from entering God's kingdom, we know that among these things is men laying with men as if they were like women.

I wont change who I am. I thought this would be a loving church. To tell me who I am in god. Not who I'm not. This is a false church.

God can change you. You should pray they He make you no longer homosexual. x

I'm not going to debate. It is against the bible.

Where does Scripture say that? I can show that it says otherwise. xi

Titus 3:

9 But avoid foolish disputes, genealogies, contentions, and strivings about the law; for they are unprofitable and useless.

This thing we are discussing is a foolish dispute?

The Bible is just a book. God is spirit. If you believe in god then you will be saved. It doesn't matter who you are.

God is the Bible.

Let me ask you this: you have a gay neighbor. In the bible it says to love thy neighbor as thy self. Are you going to be nice or are you going to try to kill him?

I will be nice and warn them about hell. Beyond that I would mind my own business. We have several unbeliever neighbors here; we don't go around harassing them.

Though, if they ask you or do not want to be taught about hell or preached to, don't.

I don't go warning people twice if I can help it.

It is against Jesus's teachings. Preaching to those who do not want it.

After the first warning, yeah. We are instructed to move on. xii

Another one to go along with it. Matthew 7:

6 “Do not give what is holy to the dogs; nor cast your pearls before swine, lest they trample them under their feet, and turn and tear you in pieces.

I think that's more a warning about false teachers. The average false christian isn't likely to "tear me in pieces," but false teachers are. They have more at stake and more power to wield. Matthew 7 goes on to warn about false teachers. xiii Also describing them as "ravenous wolves" which goes along with the "tear you in pieces."

Anyway, I don't disagree with your point in general. Although I do disagree that it means we shouldn't argue. That is, we should confront false teachings with Scripture. xiv Make arguments with Scripture; check other people's arguments against Scripture; see what is true. Do not simply fellow with anyone saying "Lord Lord." xv "You who practice lawlessness," like those who practice homosexuality while professing with their mouth that they believe.

  2. 1 Corinthians 6:

9 Do you not know that the unrighteous will not inherit the kingdom of God? Do not be deceived. Neither fornicators, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor homosexuals, nor sodomites, 10 nor thieves, nor covetous, nor drunkards, nor revilers, nor extortioners will inherit the kingdom of God. 11 And such were some of you. But you were washed, but you were sanctified, but you were justified in the name of the Lord Jesus and by the Spirit of our God.

37 Jesus replied: “‘Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind.’ 38 This is the first and greatest commandment. 39 And the second is like it: ‘Love your neighbor as yourself.’ 40 All the Law and the Prophets hang on these two commandments.”
