Daniel: Someone brought up an interesting point, that the rules that "set apart" Israel are racist. i
Darwin: Ha, indeed they are. God has a chosen race, the Jews, and He Himself is a Jew.
How about this for a "racist" remark?
Zechariah 14:21
In that day there shall no longer be a Canaanite in the house of the Lord of hosts.
Deuteronomy 23:
3 “An Ammonite or Moabite shall not enter the assembly of the Lord; even to the tenth generation none of his descendants shall enter the assembly of the Lord forever, 4 because they did not meet you with bread and water on the road when you came out of Egypt, and because they hired against you Balaam the son of Beor from Pethor of Mesopotamia, to curse you.
Darwin: Google definition "racist" - "a person who shows . . . discrimination . . . against people of other races."
Wrong? God can do no wrong. He's the One who says what is wrong and what is right. "There is ONE Lawgiver." ii
Daniel: God commanded the Israelites to not eat certain things in order so that they would be set apart from the other nations.
T1r3sias: So he's a small minded petty racist?
Daniel: heh, I guess that is racism, huh.
T1r3sias: Yes, separating people by race is racist.
Daniel: I hadn't thought about it that way, but yeah apparently not all racism is wrong.
Karma: lol, Which racism isn't wrong?
Daniel: The racism that puts different rules on Israel vs not-Israel.- James 4:12 ^
There is no longer Jew or Gentile, slave or free, male and female. For you are all one in Christ Jesus.
- Galatians 3:28
Do you hate me because I'm my dad is arabic, or because my mum is black?
1 Corinthians 12:13 says "We were all baptized by one Spirit so as to form one body—whether Jews or Gentiles, slave or free—and we were all given the one Spirit to drink."
You need to pull your head in, sunshine. Your attitude is terrible. What are you, seven years old? If you were my son, I would make you apologise for your evil behaviour.
Indeed, all are one in Christ, and it's not right to judge someone's salvation based on race ethnicity or nationality. My point is simply that God is technically racist in that he discriminates against non-Israelites, particularly in the Old Testament.
I do not hate you because you are Arabic or black; I hate you because you don't believe the whole Bible.
Hating someone is not very christian, you seem to claim you are one so try acting as one.
Daniel:
"I do not hate you because you are Arabic or black; I hate you because you don't believe the whole Bible"
It's not wrong to hate.
Psalm 139:
You dont know anything about christianity.
Can you prove me wrong using scripture rather than baseless accusations?
