BluePassionFlower: I thought religion was supposed to make you happy, but I feel like killing myself
I do not know if I am a complete coward or weakling or perhaps simply overly sensitive and take things personally as my family tells me. I want to kill myself because of my imperfections. I am NOT good at handling criticism or correction, I take it personally. I am also not good at admitting when I'm wrong. Because I have a couple of mental illness it is difficult for me to control my emotions or think rationally. I am envious that my sister can easily think rationally or objectively about things. Why can't I be like her NOT MYSELF? I feel unneeded like a burden or that I destroyed my family. I am angry all the time. I live in the past. I have difficulty getting along with others.
Daniel: First of all, suicide leads to hell.
I am NOT good at handling criticism or correction
Understandable, you are a wretched sinner. But you must not refuse correction or else your place is hell. (Proverbs 10:17 i)
I have a couple of mental illness
That's because you hate God. (Romans 1:28 ii)
Why can't I be like her NOT MYSELF?
It's good that you hate yourself. (Luke 14:26 iii) iv Don't be like your sister; be like Christ. Make sure you are in the truth.
BluePassionFlower: How do I have mental illnesses because I hate God? I was born with them.
Daniel: Everybody hates God, (Genesis 6:5 v) and He caused you to have mental issues. You need to repent and fear Him.
BluePassionFlower: You're line of thinking is a little way-off. God gave me a mental illness, so I must repent.
ChristmasEaster: Where di you learn that mental illness is caused by hating God? Why is it good she hates herself?
Daniel: I gave references to scripture. Feel free to look them up yourself.
ChristmasEaster: I looked it up honestly. I have never heard of God punishing someone with mental illness because they hated him. Doesn't sound like a loving God.
RazarTuk: vi This is a warning for messing with a support thread.
I was really tempted to reply to this with "Roman Catholicism leads to hell," but I should be wise like a serpent and not risk getting removed from being able to contend here over it.
Matthew 10:
16 “Behold, I send you out as sheep in the midst of wolves. Therefore be wise as serpents and harmless as doves.
Then I noticed the ChristmasEaster guy started a new thread:
ChristmasEaster: Are mental illnesses caused by hating God? And is it necessary we hate ourselves?
I read an answer here that said so.
gnurdette: vii
Are mental illnesses caused by hating God?
Blaming the victims of illness is wrong. Physical and mental illness alike.
And is it necessary we hate ourselves?
If you did, then loving your neighbor as yourself viii wouldn't make much sense. ix
ChristmasEaster: I read answer on here that said just that. Sometimes I don't trust other Christians. They can be cruel.
Daniel: But you trust a self-described transexual lesbian?
1 Corinthians 6:
9 Do you not know that the unrighteous will not inherit the kingdom of God? Do not be deceived. Neither fornicators, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor homosexuals, nor sodomites,
jk3us: x This is a warning for bigotry. I will also ask you not to call people heretics or say repeatedly say that different beliefs lead to hell. Find ways to engage in productive discussion instead.
Daniel: Ok so no posting scripture then. I was told it was ok to post scripture. Maybe you should have a chat with the other mods.
jk3us: I didn't warn you for the scripture.
And then I got banned anyway. Here was the reason given:
You've violated several of our rules recently, but the most serious is that you've repeatedly targeted a vulnerable and hurting person, even following them to a different thread. xi
That's not acceptable.
I'm banning you for seven days. During that time, please read the group's rules and decide whether you're willing to respect them, and to respect the other people who participate here.
After having been banned, an atheist moderator of a "christian" forum scolded me further, and I replied to him via direct message:
brucemo: xii There is an expectation here that you will reply to what people say rather than to who they are. If she said something wrong, disagree with that, but you can't just dismiss people because you don't approve of something about them.
Also, something like 95% of Americans are fornicators so if people are going to dismissed via that verse, this place is going to be pretty sparse.
We're also removing your flair xiii text because flair text isn't meant to advertise a website. xiv Please don't change it back. xv
Daniel:
There is an expectation here that you will reply to what people say rather than to who they are. If she said something wrong, disagree with that, but you can't just dismiss people because you don't approve of something about them.
If someone is a self described homosexual, it is evidence that they are not saved according to scripture. The Bible says we should not listen to people who are not saved when it comes to matters of salvation.
Also, something like 95% of Americans are fornicators so if people are going to dismissed via that verse, this place is going to be pretty sparse.
- Proverbs 10:
17 He who keeps instruction is in the way of life,
But he who refuses correction goes astray. - Romans 1:
28 And even as they did not like to retain God in their knowledge, God gave them over to a debased mind, to do those things which are not fitting;
- Luke 14:
26 “If anyone comes to Me and does not hate his father and mother, wife and children, brothers and sisters, yes, and his own life also, he cannot be My disciple.
- However in this case, BluePassionFlower hates his or herself unrighteously because he or she lacks belief. That is to say, the hatred of oneself is not in and of itself evidence of faith. ^
- Genesis 6:
5 Then the Lord saw that the wickedness of man was great in the earth, and that every intent of the thoughts of his heart was only evil continually.

39 And the second is like it: ‘You shall love your neighbor as yourself.’
- Not that scripture needs to make sense, but this one is not so hard: Ephesians 5:
29 For no one ever hated his own flesh, but nourishes and cherishes it, just as the Lord does the church.
